Scuba Gear Servicing FAQ
How often should I service my regulator?
Most manufacturers recommend servicing every 12 months or every 50 dives, whichever comes first. Cold-water diving puts more wear on equipment, so annual servicing is especially important in our region.
Do you service all brands of regulators?
We service most major recreational, technical, and rebreather-compatible brands. If you’re unsure about your specific make or model, contact the shop and we’ll confirm.
How long does regulator servicing take?
Turnaround is usually one to two weeks depending on parts availability and seasonal demand. Rush service may be available, ask our staff for current timelines.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is required. Drop off your equipment during regular shop hours and we’ll get it into the service queue.
Can you test my gear in cold-water conditions?
Yes. All serviced regulators are checked on our test bench and tuned for reliable performance in local cold-water environments.
How do I know if my BCD needs servicing?
If your inflator sticks, your dump valves feel gritty, or your bladder isn’t holding air as well as it used to, it’s time for a service. Annual inspections prevent most issues.
How often do scuba tanks need inspection?
Cylinders require a visual inspection every year and a hydrostatic test every five years. If you’re unsure when your tank was last inspected, bring it in and we’ll check the markings for you.
Do you offer O₂ cleaning?
Yes. Tanks being filled above 40 percent oxygen or used for partial-pressure blending must be oxygen-clean. We offer full O₂ cleaning and re-cleaning.
Do you rebuild or service tank valves?
Absolutely. We inspect, clean, rebuild, and replace tank valves as needed, including DIN and yoke configurations.
What if my gear fails inspection?
We’ll explain exactly why, outline your options, and provide repair or replacement recommendations before doing any additional work.
