Scuba Regulators in Nanaimo
Your regulator is your life support underwater. It delivers breathing gas to you, supplies air to your BCD and drysuit, and needs to perform reliably in every condition you dive in. At Nanaimo Dive Outfitters, we stock regulators built for cold-water Pacific Northwest diving as well as lightweight setups for warm-water travel.
Whether you’re buying your first regulator or upgrading to a more advanced configuration, our staff can help you choose a system that fits your diving today and where you want to go next.
Brands and regulator models we carry
We work with proven manufacturers known for reliability, serviceability, and cold-water performance.

- Alpha series, including Alpha paired with CDX or FDX sealed first stages
- Delta series for higher performance and adjustable breathing
Oceanic regulators are popular for recreational divers who want dependable performance, easy breathing, and straightforward maintenance.

- Hollis 212 paired with DCX first stage
Hollis regulators are built with cold-water and technical diving in mind, featuring sealed first stages, robust construction, and excellent performance in demanding conditions.
We can configure any regulator setup for single tank, doubles, sidemount, or stage use depending on your training and dive plans.
Understanding regulator components
A complete regulator system includes several key parts, each serving an important role.
First stage - The first stage attaches to your cylinder and reduces tank pressure to an intermediate pressure. We primarily stock environmentally sealed diaphragm first stages, which are ideal for cold water, silty environments, and long-term reliability.
Second stage (primary) - This is the regulator you breathe from. Modern second stages are balanced and designed to deliver smooth, easy breathing at any depth. Some models offer user-adjustable controls to fine-tune inhalation resistance.
Alternate air source (octo) - Your backup second stage should be simple, reliable, and easy to locate in an emergency. We can match octos to your primary regulator or recommend high-visibility options depending on your setup.
Whether you're piecing together a regulator setup or you want a complete and ready-to-dive regulator setup, we can help.
Cold-water and travel-ready options
Diving in British Columbia demands regulators designed to handle cold temperatures and reduce the risk of free-flow. Many of the regulators we carry are cold-water rated and environmentally sealed.
For travel divers, we also stock lighter-weight regulator options that pack easily and perform well in warm water destinations without sacrificing reliability.
If you split your time between local diving and tropical trips, we can help you choose a setup that works well in both environments.
Regulator accessories and upgrades
We carry a full range of regulator accessories to improve comfort, hose routing, and performance, including:
-
- Swivel adapters for improved hose comfort and head movement
- Low-pressure and high-pressure hoses in multiple lengths
- Custom mouthpieces for improved fit and reduced jaw fatigue
- Hose protectors, clips, and routing solutions
- SPGs and air integration options
Small changes in hose configuration or mouthpiece fit can make a big difference in comfort and trim underwater.
