Is Scuba Diving The Right Choice For You?

Scuba diving is a fun, safe, and amazing experience, but we'll be the first to admit that it's not the sport for everyone.  Before considering taking your open-water course ask yourself the following questions.

#1.  Are you at least 14 years of age?  Cold water diving is different than warm water diving.  Due to the fitment of gear such as drysuits and physical strength to move the gear around, it is recommended that you be 14 years of age or older.

#2.  Are you in reasonable physical shape?  The gear we must wear for cold water diving is heavy until you get in the water and then you'll become weightless.  But we do need to move and carry the gear to the water.

#3.  Are you good at following instructions? There are very specific skills you must learn and master.  You'll learn these simple skills from a qualified and experienced instructor.  You will be required to demonstrate the skills you've learned.

#4.  Are you fairly comfortable in the water?  You don't need to be an Olympic swimmer, but the ability to swim and tread water are both important.  If you have anxiety or panic around water or aquatic environments, this might not be the sport for you.
